Interactive Technologies Integration Framework

hubIIT.png

An evidence-informed framework guiding the development of sustainable technology integration capability in schools.

The four domains of the framework

The framework is organised into four interrelated domains. Each domain addresses a distinct dimension of technology integration capability and develops progressively across five phases.

The Interactive Technologies Integration Framework organises integration capability across four interrelated domains that together describe effective digital practice. The framework builds on key structural elements from Gary Beauchamp’s and Trudy Sweeney’s Interactive Whiteboard integration frameworks, adapting and extending these foundations to contemporary technologies and broader classroom contexts.

While each domain can be examined independently, meaningful integration emerges from their interaction. Progression across the five phases reflects increasing confidence, intentionality and shared agency, but development is not strictly linear. Teachers may demonstrate strengths in some domains while consolidating others, particularly as technologies, curriculum contexts and learning goals evolve. The framework is designed as a reflective scaffold to support ongoing review and professional growth.

File Management and Operating Systems Use
